4.5 - The Fairmont Acapulco Princess Golf Course is a scenic retreat into a coconut-dotted landscape filled with tropical birds and Aztec beauty. Ted Robinson designed these interesting eighteen holes at the luxurious Fairmont Acapulco Princess. Narrow fairways and numerous water hazards are the signature characteristics of this sultry Mexican playground. Twelve of the eighteen holes have water, coconut palm trees are pervasive and alluring, but the challenge is staying on the fairways.

The Fairmont Acapulco Princess Golf Course is difficult, a testament to the shrewd layout. The course sprawls 6,400 yards from the Championship tees. It underwent improvements and significant maintenance in 2007, when all tees and greens were replanted with Seashore Paspalum--which is ideal for this salty Pacific environment. The course is scenic: with bungalows, a coconut cove, well-crafted fairways and abundant water.

The Fairmont Acapulco Princess Golf Course is regularly ranked among the top 25 golf resorts in the world. This is arguably the best course in Acapulco and all of the Mexican Riviera. The 18th hole is the famous signature hole, offering a challenging par four with an enormous lake and a dog leg amid a narrow fairway. This is a taste of Acapulco golfing at its finest.

The Fairmont Acapulco Princess Golf Course is among the oldest and most respected courses in Acapulco. It is also among the best maintained courses, offering a beautiful layout and an Aztec ambiance befitting Acapulco’s rich history.

The secret to the Fairmont Acapulco Princess Golf Course is avoiding the water and keeping on the fairways. There is little room for error on this course, which is why many fantastic golfers have posted high scores. It’s a scenic course with beauty exuding from every hole, but Fairmont Acapulco Princess Golf Course is more than a pretty background; it is indeed one of the most challenging, and rewarding courses in the region.

The Fairmont Acapulco Princess is one of the most highly recommended resorts in Acapulco, offering a beachfront ambiance on par with the most spectacular Mexican resorts. The service is perfect and the amenities are gorgeous. More than a golf hotel, guests can enjoy 480 acres of breathtaking scenery. Travel & Leisure ranks this resort among the top 25 in Latin America, and among the top 500 hotels worldwide. An enormous Aztec pyramid sets the scene here, soaring fifteen stories into the air. Situated around this epicenter you will find lush tropical gardens, luxurious swimming pools, a word class spa, fine restaurants and pure Mexican serenity. The Aztec ambiance palpitates with authenticity; the setting is extraordinary.

Another nice thing about golfing at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess is the price. Rates for visitors begin at $150, and the twilight rate is $105. Guest rates are as low as $90. Taylor rental clubs are available for $40; Foot Joy shoes are available for $15. Men are required to wear collared shirts, and beach wear is not permitted on the course. Practice facilities are available, as are caddies and carts.

The Fairmont Acapulco Princess Golf Course is challenging and a little devious at times. It is also exhilarating and a feast for the eyes. For reservations, send an email to aca.golf@fairmont.com.
