Srixon - Money Back Guarantee . . . on Golf Balls?

Annie Gladue-Latham Comments (0) 10/17/08
4.0 - Srixon, a leader in golf ball technology and sponsor of Jim Furyk, Henrik Stenson, Karrie Webb, and many other players, has made an unusual offer – they will give you your money back if you aren’t completely satisfied with their high performance golf balls. This "Money Back Guarantee" offer applies only to current in-line Srixon golf balls purchased between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009. Included on that list are six types of balls: Z-URC, Z-URS, Trispeed, AD333, Soft Feel and Soft Feel Ladies. They range in price from $39.95 down to $19.95 (see golfballs.com).

In the form on the Srixon website you are asked to provide a reason for return, using a minimum of 15 words. That means you can’t get away with just saying, “they were lame!” It is clear that Srixon is looking for some good honest feedback. It will take about 30 days for the refund to be received.

Other things to be aware of, include:

1 – Need to supply the original receipt.

2 – You have to include two Srixon balls for every three purchased in their original packaging.

And some legal mumbo jumbo:

3 – The guarantee is limited to the purchase price and excludes any incidental or consequential damages, negligence, strict liability or any other legal theory.

4 – Srixon is not responsible for costs associated with the return or proof of delivery of product.

Per Greg Hopkins, the president and CEO of Cleveland Golf / Srixon, "I think this makes a pretty strong statement about our faith in the performance of Srixon balls. At Srixon, we know that seeing is believing and we truly believe that once you play Srixon balls, they'll become your golf ball of choice."

*****
Included in the list of Money Back Guarantee balls are the new SOFT FEEL and SOFT FEEL LADY golf balls. They feature a new core, cover and aerodynamics.

In brief, the two-piece SOFT FEEL golf ball is designed for golfers with slightly slower swing speeds, while the two-piece SOFT FEEL LADY golf ball is designed specifically for women. Both these balls produce exceptional carry off the tee while assuring players soft feel on all their shots from tee to green.

The new, soft “Energetic Gradient Growth” core is designed to help create faster ball speed combined with optimal high launch angle. If you want to maximize your distance and you have a fairly slow swing speed, this new ball could be an excellent choice.

Srixon says that the cover of the SOFT FEEL is made of proprietary Pana-Tetra blended ionomer which helps create a higher launch angle and reduce driver spin. True to its name, the softness of its cover will aid distance off the driver without sacrificing greenside spin and playability.

Let’s talk about aerodynamics (remember, there’s always a science angle). Both the Srixon SOFT FEEL and the SOFT FEEL LADY golf balls feature eight different dimple sizes with larger dimple diameters and greater dimple surface coverage. Why? The company believes this will help create a powerful lift during flight --lowering wind resistance that leads to a higher trajectory and greater carry. Sounds impressive.

Conclusion:

The Money Back Guarantee offer may be just what the doctor ordered to initiate trial of Srixon’s golf balls. Based on the description of the new SOFT FEEL LADY, I am compelled to give them a shot.  Honestly, if I were to weigh-in shipping costs, I may forego actually returning the balls if I don’t like them. Heck, they can always go into my pocket of water balls.

But that’s not the point. Srixon seems fairly confident that shipping the balls back will be a non-issue. That, in itself, makes these balls worth a try.
