New Golf Bags of 2012

Golf bags are the constant fashion. The variables may change slightly, but the carrier is the necessity in the equation. Kings and queens and emerald royalty in the sixteenth century of Scotland may not have carried the sponsors of the modern era, but something has to be used to lug your clubs, right? So the evolution has begun. Leading companies are aiming for your wallet--hoping to hold those tees, gloves, balls, and umbrellas. When it stops raining or snowing for the winter (in cold and seasonal climates) we can dream big and examine the best new golf bags soon-to-be and currently on the market for 2012.

So here you have it, a look at some of the hottest new golf bags for 2012:

OGIO offers an eclectic collection of 2012 bags, ranging from those aimed at women, children, champions, beginners, and members of the most elite clubs. The OGIO Mammoth travel bag offers simplicity and directness of purpose; no need to rely on your hands, because 4-swivel wheels with off-road capability make golfing mobile. There is plenty of room for cell phones and all golf accessories in this golf travel bag. OGIO is innovative and diverse, yet this advanced selection will not come free; be prepared to pay about $220-$300 USD for the majority of the upper echelon bags.

The OGIO Recoil Stand Band offers a hybrid approach with 14-way top, eight pockets, full-length dividers, TORG strap, ArcLite stand system, and plenty of room for extra tees and balls.

OGIO’s majestic Lady Cart Bag offers ten pockets, an insulated hydration pouch, a zipper-less Bal-Pocket, and many extra features sure to please the ladies.

Some of the more reasonably priced (less than $200) OGIO bags include the Diva Luxe Stand Bag: eight-way top, seven pockets, ArcLite stand system, and a sleek sporty design ideal for professional golfers of the modern era. The current price of the Diva Luxe is $189.

Yes, of course, these new bags sound nice; but ever wonder how one can afford them and the best sets of woods and irons while others can carry their own bags and shoot under par without effort? Why sacrifice your children’s college education for a game that sometimes costs an arm and a leg? For those hoping to discover something a little cheaper without sacrificing quality or style, OGIO again offers great options, including the Intuition Cart Bag. This 2012 woman’s bag provides a fourteen-way top, complete with full-length-dividers, three-ball silo, and falls into the ultralite (4.9 lbs.) class. The Intuition bag is priced at $139.

The OGIO 2011 models offer reduced prices (many under $100) and some of these features are barely outdated. It might be wise to look a year behind, as in many cases, the past is better than the current. The exchange rate fluctuates and today’s hottest new fads might stifle in the wind. What will determine the golf trends that last into the future? One thing is certain: bags are not getting any heavier, or cheaper.

Though OGIO has barraged the market with products, especially their 2012 line of golf bags, there is of course more competition vying for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Not to be overshadowed by OGIO, Mizuno offers the MP Golf Bag, priced at $219.99. The Mizuno Scratch Sac Black Golf Bag is priced under $100 and is a good value for those who do not need (or are not willing to shell out) a huge lump of cash for a new bag. Whatever bag you choose, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover; or should you?
