Tiger Woods breezed into the next round of the PGA Tour's playoffs, by firing a fourth round four-under 67 in his first tournament since finalizing his divorce.

His performance Sunday at The Barclays vaulted Woods into the top 100 in the FedEx Cup playoff standings, the measuring stick for advancing to the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston.

Woods entered the Barclay event at No. 112 in the playoff standings and moved up to 65th with his best finish in two months. He needed to finish between 50th and 57th place at The Barclays tournament to advance and wound up in a tie with two others for 12th.

"I haven't won all year," said Woods. "But this is a week that I was very close. I felt that if I would have putted better for all four days, I would have been right there. Looking forward to next week."

But Woods, who finalized his divorce from ex-wife Elin Nordegren last Monday, did enough to advance to the Deutsche Bank which begins Friday.

"The only difference from the last few days and today was I made putts," Woods said. "I shot myself out of it in the middle two days."

Woods, who is still searching for his first win of the season, feels he is getting close.

"Very pleased," Woods said. "I found something in my stroke today when I was warming up and I went with it. I hit a lot of good putts today."

Woods also improved his swing off the tee this weekend and hopes to carry that over into the Deutsche Bank.

Only the top 30 golfers make it to The Tour Championship in Atlanta but Woods likes his chances of getting that far.

"The next three venues I've won on," said Woods, referring to Deutsche Bank, BMW Championship and East Lake Golf Club for The Tour Championship.

Since his return to professional golf in April following a sex scandal that engulfed his personal and professional life, Woods has struggled mightily with his putting.

"This is a week I was very close," Woods said. "If I would have put it together on the greens for all four days I would have been right there (for a victory)."
