Mickelson signs on for Singapore
US Masters champion Phil Mickelson will headline the Singapore Open this year which has boosted its prize money by one million US dollars.
The American world number two joins Australian Adam Scott, Ireland's Padraig Harrington and Yang Yong-Eun from Korea as marquee players confirmed so far.
The tournament will be played for the sixth successive time at Sentosa Golf Club from November 11 to 14 with a total purse of six million dollars, coming a week after the equally lucrative HSBC Champions in Shanghai.
For the second year in a row it will be joint-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour,
"With a world class field and excellent conditions, the Barclays Singapore Open is operating at the very highest level of our sport and we look forward to another exciting edition of the event in November," said European Tour chief George O’Grady.
European Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter won the tournament last year by a shot from China's Liang Wenchong.
